Description
Oxacyl® is an oral tablet preparation containing oxandrolone, a 17α-methylated derivative of dihydrotestosterone. The molecule is characterised by an oxygen substitution at the second carbon position of the A-ring, which distinguishes its steroid nucleus from other 17α-alkylated compounds in the same broad class.
The tablet format is suited to this small-molecule steroid compound for oral administration. In this dosage form, the active substance is provided as a measured unit dose intended for release after ingestion, with the 17α-methylated structure supporting oral presentation rather than an esterified oil-based injectable format.
