Description
Mibocyl® is a sterile oily solution containing mibolerone, a synthetic 19-nor steroid compound with methyl substitutions at the 7α and 17α positions. Unlike esterified injectable steroids, mibolerone is presented as the active compound itself and does not require cleavage of an ester group to yield the parent substance.
The oily injectable form is suited to the lipophilic character of this steroid compound for deep intramuscular administration. In this type of preparation, the oil phase acts as the carrier for the dissolved active substance, while release from the injection site is governed by distribution from the oily vehicle rather than ester hydrolysis.
