Description
Stanocyl® is a sterile injectable suspension containing stanozolol, a 17α-alkylated derivative of dihydrotestosterone with a pyrazole ring fused to the A-ring of the steroid nucleus. Stanozolol is presented as the active compound itself and is not an esterified steroid requiring hydrolysis to yield the parent substance.
The suspension format is suited to the low aqueous solubility of stanozolol, where the active substance is dispersed as fine particles rather than dissolved as a true solution. After intramuscular administration, release from the injection site is governed by particle dissolution rather than oil-depot release or ester hydrolysis.
